Second Friday Open Studios Event

Tour the Fine Arts Building Studios and get inspired! Shop for art, books, musical instruments, classes, and more! We open our doors to the public from 5 to 9 on the evening of the second Friday of every month to connect with the community and share our work in a casual and relaxed setting. We recommend starting your tour by taking an elevator to the 10th floor, and then take the stairs down, stopping at each of the Open Studios for a unique cultural and architectural experience.

The following FAB Studios members participated in our Friday, March 8th event:

927 - Ossia Musical Forum: A vibrant music studio specializing in booking customized chamber music for live events and classical string instruction. Stop by for an open rehearsal from 5:30 to 7pm, and enjoy a classical strings trio performance.

916 - Jim Tansley Art: Check out and critique my February painting. Let colorful abstractions warm up your winter doldrums. Or have a Starburst.

904 - Performers Music: Large selection of sheet music; mostly classical, also jazz, vocal standards, show tunes, and a wide variety of method books and studies. For performers, teachers, and students of all levels.

827 - Anita Miller Gallery: Celebrate International Woman’s Day and Women's History Month by stepping inside a woman's world to view fifteen paintings, 5 to 7:30 pm.

721 - Liederstube: An intimate oasis for art song 6 to 9pm.

534 - Lou Ann Burkhardt Art: Paintings, drawings, and prints on display and for sale from 6 to 9 pm. Commissioned portraits can be discussed.

300 - American Rhythm Center: We welcome all ages and all levels to an all styles dance jam! Stop by our studios before 8 pm to see classes in action and learn more about our drop-in class options! After 8 pm, join one of our core partners in residence, Ja'Bowen Dixon, as he hosts an open all styles dance jam. Let loose on a Friday night in our beautiful Studio A (Elaine Cohen Tap Studio) and take in the sights of Michigan Avenue and Grant Park. Don't forget to register for a class with us before you leave!
